Everyone is talking about Christmas Shopping. It's getting to that time but I don't want it. I love winter and getting together with family and friends but I don't want to be brainwashed anymore into materialistic insanity. I definitely do not want to add or contribute to the toxicity of this earth. So this year things will be different. Well not much different from last year since we started this last year :)
Christmas and the Winter Solstice for me is a time of love and sharing with friends and family. Coming together to feast and be merry. Christmas to me should never be about stressing about buying stuff that doesn't matter in huge amounts and this stuff that we are buying, most of it is not earth friendly. My husband and I have decided that we do not want to pass that crazy legacy on to our children.
So this year we are making gifts for the kids and they will only be getting two or three each. These gifts will be earth friendly and from the heart, made from recycled materials and/or all natural. I will not be sending out Christmas cards this year. It is a waste of paper and the picture printing and materials are not earth friendly. Instead, I will be sending a Christmas email with a pic to friends and family.
I am waking up from the material illusion of want, want, want, buy, buy, buy, accumulate, accumulate, accumulate. Why do people live in the material illusion? For nothing. I want to see and experience what really matters, relationships based on love, joy, peace, friendship. I want to feel my heart overflow with the true meaning of Christmas/Winter Solstice and that is to embrace love and respect nature.
We have been lulled to sleep by a pretty and empty melody. Now it is time to wake up and fill that emptiness with Love.
